It was great to see so many nursery school teachers come to the training on ELECT. It was an informative evening and very encouraging to see so many dedicated ECE's continue in professional development.
An informative session on ELECT, its guiding principles and the continuum of development was presented. Examples of how ELECT is being implemented into the program in the Early learning centre at Algonquin College was available for participants to see. Our time in small groups was informative and gave participants opportunity to share what is being done in programs. The implementation of ELECT will be a process and will be unique to each centre. This ELECT framework gives opportunity to ECE's to document the work that is done in Early learning and provides opportunity for accountability to those we work for and with. Some samples of work were shared and ideas of what first steps can be taken. Let us know what first steps your centre is taking.
